Citrus Sugar Scrub Recipe
If there was ever an excuse for some major self-care — now is the time, people. One of my most asked questions is in regards to my self-tanning routine. A major step to getting an even tan at home is to exfoliate and moisturize prior to putting anything on your skin.
This scrub is my go-to prep for giving myself an even, natural looking glow. It’s simple, inexpensive, smells incredible, leaves my skin feeling baby smooth and makes a great gift.
Ingredients:
1 cup organic coconut oil
1 cup organic sugar
20 drops grapefruit essential oil
15 drops lemon essential oil
mason jar or glass container
The consistency of this scrub is entirely up to you. Sometimes I add a bit more sugar for a rough consistenty, sometimes more coconut oil for additional moisture. The ratios I provided above are a solid baseline.
Mix the above ingredients until smooth. I make pretty small batches at a time and keep in a sealed glass container in my shower. One of these mini mason jars usually lasts me 2 weeks (I use the scrub 1-2 times a week).
