Family Friendly Rugs That Check All The Boxes

Rugs. Are. Hard.

I’m not sure I owned a single rug at our prior home because I had major commitment issues. But now, with two kiddos running around…rugs are a must in this house. It took me several online failures and shipment returns (sorry dear husband) before I landed on rugs that are not only beautiful, but durable, affordable and easy to clean.

If in doubt, go for an Orian Rug. You can’t go wrong with this brand. Every single rug from Erin’s My Texas Home Orian Rug Line is lovely and great quality…not to mention incredibly affordable.

Pro Tip: My favorite spot treatment for rugs? Fantastic spray (a tip from my MIL). Its intended purpose is to cut grease on your countertops, but it breaks up stains like a dream on carpet, laundry and upholstered surfaces too.

I’m embarrassed to admit how many cowhide rugs I ordered and returned (so I wont). Hugo Hides of Houston provides, hands down, the most incredible quality and size of any animal rug I tested out. They are stunning and huge—in true Texas form.
