Weekly Whats // 2

A weekly collection of my ‘whats’ — what I’m using, what I’m eating, what I’m loving, maybe even what I’m listening to. Who knows. But every Sunday I’ll be sharing a quick bite of my ‘Weekly Whats’ with you.

What I’m cooking.
Like the rest of the world I’ve been trying out intermittent fasting. I try not to eat before 11 am these days. Most of the time my first meal is my all-time favorite avocado and goat cheese salad. But, I’ve been very into quick egg bowls lately. I caramelize some onions, add whatever veggies I have on hand, toss in some spinach and eggs and call it lunch.

What I’m living in.
My Lululemon jogger dupes. These might be my favorite purchase in a while. The perfect light weight, flattering joggers that go with everything. I absolutely live in them and already ordered a back up pair because they are super affordable.

What I’m trying. I’ve been in search of a new foundation. Something lightweight, but still full coverage. I have classic combination skin (oily t-zone with dry patches). My current foundation just wasn’t working anymore. It was settling into fine lines and breaking up. I asked you guys for recommendations and several of you suggested the new IT cosmetics matte “foundation”. I have tried their CC cream in the past, but it wasn’t enough coverage for me and I always ended up looking extra shiny. This new combo however, has been a win. Still trying it out and want to give it a good few weeks before I make it official — but so far, I’m a fan.

What I’m listening to. I anxiously awaited the release of this podcast last fall and have been listening each and every week. A fun listen if you’re an Office junkie like myself. I always throw one on during a run, while folding laundry or driving.

What I discovered. Considering champagne and gin are two of my favorite drinks I’m disappointed in myself for only recently discovering the delicously refreshing French 75. I’m a total nerd when it comes to cocktails and have been trying to learn more about how certain drinks originated. There are a few stories about this cocktail—but my favorite is that it’s simply Charles Dickens version of a Tom Collins. If you’re trying to keep the carb count low just ask them to hold the simple syrup…you honestly don’t need it anyway.

What about the kids. My brother and sister-in-law gave this baby doll to Liv for Christmas and she has not been without her since. Cute, small baby dolls are super hard to find. Honestly, there are some terrifying looking dolls out there. This one is the perfect size, her eyes open and shut (if you’re a girl mama you know this is weirdly important) and her little mouth will hold a plastic bottle (also apparently very important to the littles).

What I totally don’t need, but use daily. Why are these dang ice rollers so appealing? Ummm, because they are awesome and I regret not purchasing one of these suckers years ago. Rolling my always puffy AM face while I make my coffee is becoming my vain morning meditation.
