I have a hard time buying into (quite literally) the current state of panic that has hit the world. I haven’t stocked up on 3 months worth of toilet paper, I’ve been avoiding most of the news stories and I refuse to buy my weight in canned goods like I’m going to live in a bunker for the next 6-8 months.
My approach is to focus on what I can control — and that’s putting nutrient rich ingredients into my family’s bodies to keep us as healthy as possible. Enter Raw Creations.
I have been on the hunt for a local, small batch, organic juicery since we moved well over a year ago. Several friends had recommended Raw Creations and I finally ventured out to one of their adorable spaces to taste their juices and hear a bit more about their brand and story. Turns out, it’s woman owned (Jenn you’re a rockstar), growing rapidly and created out of a passion to encourage healthier lifestyles for families. This is something that matters to me — a holistic healthy family approach. I sat and talked with Jenn about the importance of introducing healthy, whole foods to your littles as early as possible. You can’t just miraculously get your kid to eat those carrot sticks you’ve been packing in their lunch — you have to make fruits and veggies a ‘want to’ and not a ‘have to’ from an early age. Their focus on family is evident from their playful menu to the way they welcome kiddos with their intentional tiny spaces, games and toys.
Apart from the obvious health benefits and approaching immune support with a family first mindset — we need to be supporting local shops and restaurants right now! We are all feeling the impact of this “pandemic”, I get it. But venturing out to focus on bettering my health and the health of my family is well worth it (also, they deliver). Even ordering gift cards and gift certificates from local businesses can make a big impact right now — and you can treat yourself when the dust has settled.
I’m such a believer in balance. In some form of the 80/20 rule. I mean guys, I still drink the occasional (okay frequent) Diet Coke. My kid’s absolutely know what a fruit snack is, they love frozen pizza and have been known to crush a bag or two of Pirates Booty. But, my daughter will sit and eat my entire salad (because she saw Mommy eating one) and my son will pound a plate of fruits and veggies (because they were on the counter as an option instead of chips).
It’s about progress not perfection.
