The Best Book Box For Kids

I miss the library.

Let me clarify, I miss taking my kids to the library. I miss spending unplanned time in a quiet public place that doesn’t require my child to launch themselves from the top of the jungle gym in order to keep them entertained.

Reading books to my kids is easily one of my greatest joys as a mom. They know Mommy goes full method actor and always gets into character when reading to them. I make all the silly voices and faces that go with them. But discovering new books during lockdown was proving to be especially difficult.

I discovered Tiny Humans Read while searching for a first birthday gift for my sweet nephew (who shares a similar affinity for books). We realized pretty quickly that this monthly book box subscription scratched our library itch. Tiny Humans Read found a way to bring the library to us. Having a fresh box of books to look forward to each month brightened our extra time at home even more than we anticipated.

We opted for the sibling box (which is perfect for kids of varying ages) and I cannot tell you how many belly laughs have resulted from their book selections. Some of our now favorite books started from what my kids call their “blue book box”. One of the books even inspired my 5 year old to pick up a pencil and start to write his own little stories. Tiny Humans Read also includes a link to additional activities and resources that coincide w/ the books in your box each month.

Pro tip: If you are ever feeling overwhelmed by upcoming birthday and holiday gifts—I highly recommend simply asking for or giving books. They can be loved longer than toys, stored much easier and you can always pass them along to friends, family and little libraries.
