Simple Low-Carb Baking Substitutes

After I had my daughter, the Keto diet was intensely popular. Suzanne Ryan’s Simply Keto (the keto bible) had just been released and I was low on energy and wanting to drop the last couple of post baby lbs. They fell off with my son, but after number two…mama needed a little push.

It certainly does what it promises if you stick to the rules and ratios. Low-carb, high fat, moderate protein. I followed a pretty strict keto diet for several months and achieved and maintained my goal. For me, It wasn’t realistic to sustain a true keto diet longterm with breastfeeding and running after two kids. However, leading a low-carb lifestyle has now become my reality. It has been well over a year and I’m just not sure I’ll ever look at bread the same way again.
