Take Your Style From Summer to Fall

Admittedly, I don’t own a ton of clothes anymore. I aim for quality over quantity and try my best to build my style around timeless basics. Because I’m working from a more narrowed selection of clothing, I like to stretch my summer items as far into fall as possible.

I have been living in these flowy skirts most of the summer. In the warmer months I pair them with tanks and basic t-shirts, but they also transition so easily into fall when I throw on a long-sleeve linen top or sweater. I added these Grayson tissue cotton button-ups to my capsule wardrobe earlier this year because they are classic, effortless and versatile. I love the layered look, but living in Texas makes it nearly impossible to pull off something that cozy. These tops are so breathable and light weight that I can actually throw a sweater or cardigan over the top without sweating to death! I’ve been loving and living in the Chloe (above) & Marissa (below) lately.

I know fall styles typically mean introducing darker tones and richer colors into your wardrobe, but the more I grow into my style the more I reach for light and airy pieces year round. You can still create cozy fall looks through texture and layers while keeping your overall palette fresh and bright. I find this also helps me avoid some of those seasonal impulse purchases when the cooler months roll in. These light wash boyfriend jeans are staples even during the summer months and I love anchoring lighter looks with these inexpensive camel booties. Linked to all of these transitional looks below.
